With the Scooter Libby and illegal immigration situations, do you think Bush hates laws?

At this point, do you think he wonders "How can I make my country hate me even more?"
Answer:
I honestly don't think Bush is worried that people hate him. I think he is more concerned about what his political base thinks of him. Maybe not as much now as before the elections but I think he commuted Liddy's sentence partly to appease conservatives. Although I think it has to do more with the fact that Bush values loyalty above anything else and he is protecting one of his own. His immigration plan, as of right now, could be considered a huge failure and has pissed off a lot of conservatives. All of his major inititives (immigration, Soc Sec reform, etc) have been massive failures and republicans are starting to distance themselves from him. I think he realizes that he is a liability and is trying to shore up his base.
He thinks he is exempt from laws
He fancies himself our Emperor
Probably, what does it matter to him, he's not running for re-election so he thinks he can act like a total fool.
Well actually his pardon if Libby is within his legal right. So he is not violating any law. Every President pardons their buddies!

And what do you people expect!!?? Everyone acts like the President has control and affects everything! So why should they not act like Kings
Bush just hates laws that don't agree with him, which includes that darned Constitution. Luckily, he's nulled a lot of this, including the separation of powers with the National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive (http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/...
I really don't think he wonders how he can make the country hate him more, but I do think he wonders how 30% of America STILL supports him. I mean, seriously, what do you have to do to get the other 90-ish million Americans that still support you to stop?
I don't agree with his stance on illegal immigration. But the Scooter Libby thing I don't have a problem with, he was clearly within his constitutional rights to commute him. Besides, I don't think 2.5 years of probation and a 250,000 dollar fine is considered getting off the hook. Even a majority of the presidential hopefuls agree with the president's decision. President Clinton got off scott free for committing the same crime. Where's the justice in that?
I doubt he gives much thought to laws. Rove and Cheney decide what to do and ignore any law that stands in their way. They then tell the speech writers what to write down for Bush to (try to) read to justify and/or cover up their actions.

Bush does hate big words, thinking too hard, and spiders.
I don't think he hates laws, he uses them to his advantage. What he does feel about laws is that he is immune to them and they do not apply to him or by default Dick Cheney.
L'il Me...your ignorance is simply astounding. Bush stays within the law on everything he does. if you would listen to some source beyond the liberal mainstream media, you would hear him quoting chapter and verse on practically every move he makes...he is very diligent in doing so, to distance himself from KKKlinton, who regularly flaunted the law in both his public and private dealings.

Bush doesn't care who likes him...and i am no fan of his immigration stance...he just plugs on doing what he believes is the right thing to do...

think of the ceaseless pounding the liberal media has given him over Iraq...we must fight in Iraq or have situations in the US as they have had in Spain, France, and most recently Britain.

Libby broke only one law--in giving innaccurate answers to a special prosecutor who had an unlimited budget to find SOMETHING...Killary lied to congress two hundred times in one hour when she repeated the phrase "I Don't Recall" TWO HUNDRED TIMES in one hour when being asked about her dealings in White Water...

history will deal gently with W...just as the histories have with Churchill...the liberals HATED Winston Churchill, but he saved Britain from the Nazis...and W will have saved the Western World from Islamic subjugation...even ninnies like you.
Scooter Libby was a good thing. Also he should pardon our Border guards. Bush is an honest man who holds high regard for the office he holds and for the law. He is occasionally wrong . Like all he is human.
I honestly think he looks at himself as a king or at least a ruler. He feels he is free of any law that he was assigned to protect and feels his friends should be treated the same. He thinks he can expand globally without fail or care , expanding US ideals much like an old world King.

I really believe he wants a tolitarian government. One that would disband both the Judicial and Legislative Branches and give him absolute power. The best proof in this? He wages physical, economic and political wars on countries who currently employed this idea, though most have changed since the wars ( i.e Iraq, North Korea, Iran, Afghanistan) He wants a country like pre-war Iraq, one where the ruler is of total control and unquestioned.

A man like this is a massive threat to global security. We are truly dealing with a madman who could easily bring us to total annihilation with the stroke of his hand. Right now Russia has begun its ICBM program which was halted in the mid 90s through the START II Treaty. The reason being ? Because Bush is carrying through his Missile Defense Shield Program throughout West Europe. Incase you haven't noticed? This is how the Cold War began over 50 years ago. If this doesn't stop quickly, we will re-enter the Cold War, only this time against much more enemies.
TONY I totally agree with you!!
