Why if i didnt break the law in the past 43 years?

i cant smoke in my local pub, but if i was in Prison i could !!
Answer:
Are you forgetting, in this country the criminal always has the best deal, as a licensee of a private members club, which is also a paid membership...my members are not allowed to smoke, Arch but the private club of our Parliament, yes they can smoke and WHY ..because it is a PRIVATE MEMBERS ESTABLISHMENT,see criminals always get the best deal or should i say choice.
Just light up and when the p.c brigade come into the boozer just steam into em..Bleedin liberties there taking with us..
that's wrong, most prisons don't allow smoking.
Because there are laws against smoking restaurants, pubs, public buildings, etc. in certain places(states, countries, towns). Smoking in prison is also illegal, but generally overlooked by prison guards.
I don't know where you are for sure, but I assume it is somewhere in the U.K. (hence the word "pub"), but across the pond here in the states, you can't even smoke IN prison!
Oooooooh...you nearly had a good question there!

You can't smoke in prison either.

I am fascinated to know that you have not broken the law in 43 years though...are you Mother Theresa?
Light up, get arrested and go to prison then the problem is solved.
Wrong - no smoking in prisons, especially now.
Not breaking the law over the past 43 years does not give you the right to break the law now.
An excellent point. A pub is a public house.
you can meet some nice folk too perhaps a new man in your life 3 meals a day no mortgage no bills lets all go
coz its now the law, ive never been convicted of any crime, dose that mean i can drink and drive coz i want to
I beg to to differ, you can smoke in prison - see this link http://www.opsi.gov.uk/si/si2007/2007076...
Just do your own thing. I am a non smoker but I do object to the manner in which your freedom of choice has been taken away. I do agree with certain restrictions about smoking in certain places for good reason,- food establishments, hospitals etc. If your local public house was allowed to have its customers smoking, if they wished, I would have the freedom of choice if I did not want to use the establishment. In the past during my travels I have often taken my ' Pint ' outside because the Bar was smokey. My choice !
Nor really it all depends in what prison because there are many where you can't smoke
Hi,

Smoking is a slow death.

It has been directly linked to coronary problems, asthma, cancer, thrombosis and bronchitis and can also have the same effect on people in the near vicinity, 'passive smokers'.

It has long term effects on foetuses in the womb and can cause pregnant women to lose their babies or have premature births.

Suicide and Euthanasia are illegal practises in nearly every country and yet it is still legal to self inflict these illness on yourself and also anyone near.

I think that nowadays, with civil liberties and human rights being questioned all the while smokers should think themselves lucky that they are still allowed to smoke at all.

Skip

This is not a personal view, it is factual.
Roll a bl**dy great fat cigarette and pretend that it's a "Spliff".
Say things like "Hey,like Man! Turn on! Tune in! Drop out!" and no-one will bother you, because they won't want people to think that they aren't "WITH IT"!
