Why is Cannabis illegal and Alcohol Legal? You don't see A&E departments full of Violent aggressive smokers!
Answer:
Because of the simple reason that the government can control the sale of alcohol. There aren't a lot of people in the world trying to brew alcoholics drinks without government consent. If the government legalised weed tomorrow there would not only still be hundreds or thousands of people still growing the stuff but you would probably be able to double the number of people growing it and they would then be doing it legally and well, the government cannot exactly have that now can they. If they can't fully control the production distribution and sale of it then they cannot possibly legalise it. Because they are very greedy.
Because alcohol has always been legal and ingrained in our society so do you honetsly think they would change it?
There are many illogical things about the law, but the consequences of making alcohol illegal would be disasterous.
Also, don;t fall into the trap of thinking that cannabis is not bad for you - studies have shown about the mental effects and despite my insistance in the past, it does lead to stronger drugs for many.
No but they are still full of people who were not aware of what they were doing and thus involved in, or caused accidents to self and others. Also the pchyciatric wards have a high proportion of canabis and dug abusers.
Not sure. Definatly the lesser of two evils. And it has similar levels of effects on the human brain. Both are addictive.
It would be illegal anyway wouldnt it though, with all this no smoking laws.
couldnt agree more and you dont hear about puffers coming out of clubs causing fights thats coz puffers are lovers not fighters!
no idea and now with the smoking bans it never will be except maybe in Switzerland. The police reported in the paper of their concerns about excess weight on peoples balconys because of all the grass plants, they said personal use growing is not an issue %26 all people had to worry about was spider mites and fungus. I have 7 plants on my balcony. Yippppeeeeee
No but many smokers go on to suffer from psychiatric disorders and cost the NHS money treating them. Because it's illegal less people take it this makes the problem smaller.
because they can't tax it , and because it will always and forever be a "gateway drug". Less harmful than cigarettes, alcohol, and 99% of all the diet pills on the market, they will always have some medical reason why it will kill you. But apparently Bush leading the country wont. *shrug* go figure.
Who knows!
I don't take recreational drugs or condone the taking of them.
But all the banning of anything does is create a criminal sub culture.
Look at the Prohibition period in the USA.
'Most' crime in this country is linked to illegal non prescription drugs.
People who choose to abuse drugs will do it no matter what the law says
Mmmm fish n chips. Don't know why, I think cannabis is far less harm full. Judging by my younger days.
it will be something else next week and i agree with you its always alcohol related violence in hospitals
if they can't TAX it, then its ILLEGAL
how true.
They say its because cannabis alters the mind- does alcohol not?
I have never known anyone to be violent after smoking cannabis however, i have met many violent, aggressive drunks.
